Better sourcing
[edit]If he is historically attested we need to make this clear in the article. We need to be clear A-what the historical sources are. B-what they actually say.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:27, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- The article is an embarrassment. It resembles many articles started in Wikipedia's early days where someone just added whatever they could remember about something without listing any sources. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time or energy that would be needed to fix it.
- I've added the sole reference we have to him historically, from the Lex Burgundionum. You could argue that this is also legendary, but as far as I can tell most scholars take the source as being close enough to Gibica's time that he's a genuine ruler. I don't think there are many generations between him and the kings known from contemporary sources, perhaps two or three.--Ermenrich (talk) 15:00, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
