Better sourcing

If he is historically attested we need to make this clear in the article. We need to be clear A-what the historical sources are. B-what they actually say.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:27, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article is an embarrassment. It resembles many articles started in Wikipedia's early days where someone just added whatever they could remember about something without listing any sources. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time or energy that would be needed to fix it.
I've added the sole reference we have to him historically, from the Lex Burgundionum. You could argue that this is also legendary, but as far as I can tell most scholars take the source as being close enough to Gibica's time that he's a genuine ruler. I don't think there are many generations between him and the kings known from contemporary sources, perhaps two or three.--Ermenrich (talk) 15:00, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
