Ambiguous sentence
The following sentence in the lead doesn't seem (to this non-specialist reader, at least) quite right: "Belgian Fascist parties in both Flanders and Wallonia, established before the war, collaborated much more actively with the occupiers; they helped recruit Belgians for the German army and were given more power themselves by the end of the war."
I imagine that these Fascist parties "were given more power themselves" *before* Belgium's liberation in February 1945, the war in Europe not being over until three months later. In which case, the sentence almost certainly needs to be tweaked (unless the Fascist parties were allowed to exercise that power even after Belgium's liberation - ?). German occupation of Belgium during World War II → Nazi Germany occupation of Belgium - I propose that this articled be moved to the title "Nazi Germany occupation of Belgium", which is shorter and more concise. "Nazi Germany" is the same as "German [government]... during World War II", except not as long. Another possible name would be "Nazi occupation of Belgium", which would be even shorter.Bill Williams (talk) 16:56, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. The title parallels German occupation of Belgium during World War I and that is good. Also, "Nazi Germany occupation" is horrid. Srnec (talk) 15:48, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
- What do you mean "horrid"? It is completely accurate, since it was literally Nazi Germany occupying the country. The current name is too long anyways. Bill Williams (talk) 21:30, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
- I mean "Nazi Germany occupation" instead of "Nazi German occupation". It's like say "Spain occupation" in lieu of "Spanish occupation". Srnec (talk) 23:21, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
- I notice an almost identical move proposal at German-occupied Europe was rejected last month.—Brigade Piron (talk) 19:57, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

- Oppose: I do not see why the current title is a problem: it is a natural disambiguation. As Srnec notes, it also fits into a much wider series of articles such as German occupation of Norway, German occupation of north-east France during World War I, German occupation of Lithuania during World War II etc. Also note that by analogy it is also Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, not "Imperial Japanese".—Brigade Piron (talk) 22:03, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
- Comment: I note that the proposer has been blocked indefinitely as a sock-puppet. —Brigade Piron (talk) 19:59, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
