Galapagos Microplate Image

Observations:

I thought it might be helpful if the word Nazca appeared on the image. It is the only plate that is not identified, and I had to read the image caption in order to orient myself properly.

What do the numbers and arrows refer to? Could be identified in a legend?

The Northern Galapagos Plate is not labelled, but is referred to in the article. SquashEngineer (talk) 13:41, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

pacific plate moving NE?

In the Geology section:

> The Pacific plate is moving the fastest at 95 mm/yr NE

Collisions?

This article mentions plate collisions repeatedly. As far as I'm aware, the only plate boundaries in the area of the triple junction are divergent and transform in type - the nearest collisional boundary lies well to the east. I will attempt to rewrite this article once I'm finished with the Cocos-Nazca spreading centre and Galápagos spreading centre. Mikenorton (talk) 12:28, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
