Good source for info for this article. Cirt (talk) 04:15, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the films Gabrielle has acted in are missing from the list. I can think of one - The Concierge, with Michael J. Fox 122.167.43.31 (talk) 19:44, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Muslim?

[edit]

her father name is an arabic name, is she muslim? 77.31.203.58 (talk) 06:26, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

as the intro says she is Indian born. her father's name is not especially muslim at all, merely sub-continental. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.168.18.147 (talk) 12:11, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is a lot of POV and disinformation here. Gabrielle's surname is both Arabic and Muslim. The person who says it is subcontinental is talking from his proverbial rearside. There is no SOuth Asian religion based on Arabic names nor are Parsis/Zoarastrians names of Arabic origin but are Persian. Granted a lot of Muslims in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Central Asia and even Turkey have Persian origin due to ancient Persian empire, as do Parsis, but Hindus and Sikhs have Hindu-origin names not Arabic or Persian. Thus Muslims in above mentioned states may have Persian origin names but they will also have Arabic origin names. Bahais though will have Arabic origin names in addition to Persian names due to this faith being an off-shoot from Iranian Shia Islam in 19th century. Furthermore, the person who said most Muslims in Iran are Muslims in name only is also deluded. In fact they consider themselves as better and truer Muslims than majority Sunni elsewhere due to veneration of Prophet Mohammed and his descendants. It seems that anything to do with Islam and Muslims then Hindus/Sikhs and other Islamophobes will not miss an opportunity to get in and put forward lies and distortions to muddy the waters. Just look at Wikipedia entries on Shalwar Kameez, 'Indian' cuisine, Mehendi/Henna, Urdu/Hindi/Hindustani, Palestine,Zionism and other Muslim cultural topics. Iranian converts to Christianity, and asylum seekers in the West also fall into this category of villifiers of Islam and Muslims.

Gabrielle Anwar may or may not be Muslim but her father certainly is from a Muslim background regrdless of his later faith or lack of it.

Her father is Iranian NOT Indian. And not all Iranians are Muslim either. Most are muslim in name only due to the arab invasion. We still practice Zoroastrian traditions. I have Zoroastrian ancestry and am also a practicing Roman Catholic. Gabrielle Anwar has said she is spiritual, and practices some form of paganism, not Islam.

http://www.fandango.com/gabrielleanwar/biographies/p1946 and Iranian websites, as well as other sources show her father's background to be Iranian. --CreativeSoul7981 (talk) 03:38, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CreativeSoul7981, I suggest you bring up evidence that has a more credible sound to it than "fandango." Her father is Indian - as is stated on almost every other website discussing her; unless of course, you can prove otherwise. Talayee (talk) 19:48, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Gabrielle Anwar Scale

[edit]

Why is this not here? I believe The Gabrielle Anwar Scale is well known enough to put on Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.27.249.200 (talk) 04:13, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed - here is a useful link. http://www.bitmob.com/articles/review-scores-the-death-of-79s-and-83s —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.126.214.201 (talk) 19:53, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Iranian websites for unknown reason often times classify well known Asian Indian Nationals as being "Persian/Iranian". Case and example Freddy Mercury AKA Farokh Bomi Balsura. Rock Star is a Parsi from India just as Tariq Anwar is of Indian/Muslim background NOT Iranian. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.119.198.232 (talk) 23:01, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

What does "C of E" mean? Is this some British/English abbreviation? As an American I have no idea what it means. Please specify. Caeruleancentaur (talk) 22:29, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
