Mission Statement
[edit]This is page intended to work in conjunction with the Environmental law portal. The mission statement from that page:
This page is intended to serve as the Wikipedia portal for the broader topic of environmental law. Please edit it to conform to other offerings in the WikiProject Law class. The point is to provide a neutral, general, broad-ranging, well-referenced, and well-linked introduction to the field. It is intended to work in conjunction with subtopical pages in (work in progress) Template: Environmental Law, such as Air quality law, Water quality law, etc., toward the broader purpose of better organizing Wikipedia's environmental law pages.
Thus, please note:
1. The first paragraph of this article should be transcluded to the appropriate section of the Environmental law page. Edits to the first paragraph here will affect the content of the main portal page.
2. This article should always be included in the Template:Environmental law template.
Otherwise, the article's mission is the same: to provide a neutral, general, broad-ranging, well-referenced, and well-linked introduction to the field of forestry law.

Forestry law, or Forest law?
[edit]The current title of this article, "Forestry law", seems overly narrow to me. Alternatively, "Forest law" would be broader and more inclusive, in my opinion, covering legal aspects of forests beyond those specifically involving the practice of forestry. Comments? Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 02:40, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Plans for Improvement
[edit]Howdy, editors! I will be working on this article for the next few weeks in hopes of helping it on its way to “Good article” status. I have created a list of tasks that I plan to tackle, which is posted to my user page under the “Begin working!” heading. However, I will list here a summary of the important changes I am looking to make.
I will be:
- making changes to the tone in order to achieve a neutral point of view and avoid an opinion essay style.
- restructuring the article to break long paragraphs into more manageable chunks.
- clarifying headings and sections, as well as adding images, to help with navigation of the article.
- providing context to the reader by supplementing and/or clarifying jargon and technical wording.
- rewriting the lead to adequately summarize the content on the article.
- updating the Environmental law article page to reflect changes to the lead.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions, and I look forward to helping with the improvement of this article! ObnoxiousAdri (talk) 00:18, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
