Does it even make sense to talk of a "First lady" in India?
[edit]I don't think I have ever heard of any spouse of an Indian President be called "First Lady" or "First Gentleman". This sounds like an Americanism. Spouses of Indian Presidents don't get any special office or title, or really anything. They don't get involved much in public affairs other than accompanying their spouse in travels and stuff. Hell, if anything, the spouse of the Prime Minister would be more visible; I remember seeing the former PM Manmohan Singh's wife in the newspapers many times during his 10 year Prime Ministership, and even then she wasn't called "First Lady", she was just the PM's wife. I don't see why this page needs to exist. Magic Abyss - (talk) 19:55, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
