Parties
[edit]Since when was a Somali clan a party? I don't think the Parliament votes through ones clan. Most MPs probably are independent individuals as we can see from the past few Cabinet Members. Though some may have formed their own parties just like President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud or joined others. Also, like 6-7 MPs have been assassinated in the past 3 years so some seats should be opened. - Elders helped choose the aspirants, which were then appointed to the legislature by a Technical Selection Committee. But yes, they aren't political parties. Middayexpress (talk) 20:48, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Bicameral Parliament
[edit]The Federal Parliament of Somalia consists of two chambers, the Upper House (Somali: Aqalka Sare), also known as the Senate, and the House of the People (Somali: Golaha Shacabka), but the article heavily focus on the latter. Ideally the article should generally speak on Somalia's parliament and the specific details of each House should be moved to a separate article. Daljir (talk) 13:07, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
