Dr. Thomas Krahn of FTDNA and more complete Y-chromosome sequencing
[edit]There have been mentions within the genetic genealogical community about Dr. Krahn's "Walk on the Y" or "Walk along the Y" project, searching for novel Y-SNPs by looking at large sections of the Y chromosome. Is this part of the advanced orders coming in at a fast rate to the FTDNA customers on their pages or another planned excursion entirely? Nagelfar (talk) 05:06, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Organization
[edit]Could anyone with ideas on how to expand this article please post here? What would educated Genetic Genealogists like to see? We know the industry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RebekahThorn (talk • contribs) 14:08, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Appropropriateness
[edit]This is just a response to the whole notion of having a page on Wikipedia promoting Family Tree DNA. I do not think ill of Family Tree DNA or their work. But I was unaware that commercial companies could be promoted on Wikipedia. If that is not the case, I have several favorite providers of services that I discovered on Angie's List I would like to put on Wikipedia. Or do you have to be be big and make a lot of money to be included? Or located in Texas? I do not get it. Kokiugwe (talk) 03:44, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Any commercial company which has substantial coverage in reliable sources can have an article on Wikipedia. The articles shouldn't however be promotional. See this Wikipedia guideline

Surnames Projects
[edit]- Hello, there are about 7,000 projects at Family Tree DNA. The number goes up almost every day. Can we agree that there is neither space nor need to list all of them here?--RebekahThorn (talk) 18:53, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
