This is a far-left (communist) publication
[edit]It needs to be made clear that this is a far-left publication, which one will discover with only a little research. It is for instance mentioned that Expo cooperates closely with Antifa Infoblatt in Germany. Antifa Infoblatt is described as extremists and is under surveillance by German authorities, for a thorough report on the "Antifa" movement in Germany, check out Verfassungsschutzbericht 2007. Both Antifa Infoblatt, Expo and the other publications mentioned are part of the "antifa" ("antifascist") movement. A brief description of this movement from Verfassungsschutzbericht 2007, page 67:
Both the founders of Expo were well-known communists, i.e. supporters of a totalitarian and anti-democratic ideology. TYRXrus (talk) 17:08, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- Do you have any reliable sources to back up your claims? // Liftarn (talk) 20:54, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- If it was a far-left publication, newspapers like Dagens Nyheter (independent liberal) and Svenska Dagbladet (independent conservative) wouldn´t publish information and quotes from them. But since they do, and are sweden biggest newpapers, and since you don´t have to be far left for being aganist nazism, fascism and racism TYRXrus won´t have a source.--Pjaha (talk) 23:35, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- TYRXrus, Liftarn and Pjaha: Here are some reliable sources. Stieg Larsson was a well known communist, read the part Activism and journalism. He was very active in the Communist Workers League, a Trotskyist political party. While I don't know if Tobias Hübinette is a communist, he has been politically active as a syndicalist and an activist in the far-left Anti-Fascist Action. - So you're trying to do some kind of guild by association? What about getting some reliable sources instead? // Liftarn (talk) 19:47, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

A Swedish Defence Research Agency report
[edit]The Swedish Defence Research Agency has apparently classified EXPO as a leftwing extremist organisation. This seems important to mention in the article:

David A (talk) 14:46, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- Your sources does not support your claim. It's more a case of sloppy editing led to Expo being included in a report. It's just a case of accidental guilt by association.[1] Btw, your link to Enköpingsposten is an editorial and thus not a reliable source. // Liftarn (talk) 09:41, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- Has the SDRA removed the mention in the report? If they have not done so by now, I doubt that there was a mistake in the research. David A (talk) 08:29, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- The report only mentions Expo one and all it says is "I Sverige är Research gruppen och Stiftelsen Expo två exempel på organisationer som också granskar nationalistiska miljöer" (In Sweden, the Research Group and the Expo Foundation are two examples of organizations that also examine nationalist environments) so the report does not support your claim. // Liftarn (talk) 09:08, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- If that is all, I agree that it does not seem severe enough to mention. David A (talk) 12:37, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- It's actually already in the article, it says "investigative journalism focused on nationalist, racist, anti-democratic, anti-semitic, and far-right movements and organisations". May I suggest you check what the sources actually say before drawing wild conclusions (or, which is more likely, blindly believe what far right websites say). // Liftarn (talk) 13:25, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- I don't think that Nyheter Idag is far right. They just seem worried about crime, collapsing welfare and Islamism. David A (talk) 14:40, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- Well, then you are wrong. The problem is that they lie and distort the truth and it appears you are gullible enough to swallow it without bothering to check the facts. // Liftarn (talk) 22:31, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- More like I have ADD and am constantly very overworked, so my focus and attention span are not very good. Anyway, I read articles from a wide variety of Swedish and international newspapers all over the spectrum, so I try to keep myself informed. David A (talk) 04:55, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- Knowing that you should perhaps be more careful and try to find out what reliable sources actaully say instead of promoting far right conspiracy theories on Wikipedia. // Liftarn (talk) 06:37, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- Again, I don't think that Nyheter Idag seem to remotely be social-Darwinists. Let's try to not assign the term far-right too easily. It diminishes the term when faced with true evil. David A (talk) 06:45, 20 June 2018 (UTC)

- Regardless, you are correct that I should have checked this up more, rather than go by vague memories. David A (talk) 15:04, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- To clarify, I think that it is good that they investigate rightwing extremists. I am just suspicious about that they seem to assign the designation too easily, and do not investigate leftwing extremists or Islamists to anywhere near the same degree, despite that they are much more powerful in Sweden according to SÄPO, if I remember correctly. David A (talk) 15:54, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- That depends. The far right is by far more violent an is much more dangerous for the general public, but SÄPO worries about the state itself so they have other priorities. // Liftarn (talk) 22:31, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- Well, personally I consider all varieties of intolerant genocidal fascists equally bad, but the Nazis are a much weaker force in the world than the Islamists and Communists. David A (talk) 04:55, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- You are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts. // Liftarn (talk) 06:37, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- It is a fact that there are much greater numbers of Islamists and Communists in the world than there are Nazis. Almost half my family tree was exterminated by Nazis, so I am extremely opposed to them, but I don't see them as nearly as much of a threat nowadays. David A (talk) 06:43, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
