Take another look at the statement. It says the "British Embassy alleges" (emphasis mine) they were lovers. I don't see anything that supports that statement, which is why it's been flagged as "citation needed". If the allegation was made, it was likely politically motivated, given what was going on in the world at the time...but I can't prove (or disprove) that without talking to an expert in medieval Euro-Asian history. --Alan the Roving Ambassador (talk) 19:52, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
