[edit]I was very surprised that this man was not in wikipedia… maybe I made a mistake? Anyway, I am sure he is rather prominent. Most of the information I got is from Sociology, 4th edition, by Anthony Giddens: there's a paragraph titled 'Erik Olin Wright theory of class' on pages 286-287 in Chapter 10 'Class, stratification and inequality', and I believe it is a rather mainstream textbook. I found around 44 000 hits on Google, many third parties discussion of his work, but I do not study sociology, so I'm rather wary of saying too much about him. I just hope the article did not already exist.--Cleversnail 13:48, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia
[edit]I've just attended to one of his lectures, and besides being a brilliant sociologist, he is a firm believer in wikipedia and it's social power. I'm not the one to edit and build much but Olin Wright really deserves more than just a stub.
- The Wisconsin Channel televised his March 2008 lecture "Envisioning Real Utopias". He talked for several minutes about his understanding of Wikipedia. Royalbroil 17:35, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
What does the phrase "until recently" mean in the first sentence? Has Wright made some sort of statement to the effect that he is no longer an "analytical Marxist"? Nomoskedasticity (talk) 10:21, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
References needed!
[edit]The user who created this article should add some refs besides worldcat pages on his books. It appears he is notable but the refs need to be solidified on to the article. Georg Amadé (talk) 20:34, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like the person who created this article has made one Wikipedia edit since May of 2009, but I'll see what I can do. Location (talk) 20:47, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
