The effects of both Helene and Milton in Florida in the same article

I was thinking that maybe it could be possible to split this into a new article titled “Effects of Hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida” as both storms made landfall in Florida and brought severe impacts, and also so the article on Helene’s effects in Florida isn’t so short, and Milton went on to affect Florida not long after Helene hit. The article would become quite lengthy, in my opinion, if it was to contain both Helene’s and Milton’s effects in Florida as they were two separate but similar back-to-back storms, and Milton does not have an article for its effects in Florida although Helene does, and Helene’s effects in Florida page could be expanded to also include Milton’s effects too. Several news reports have also mentioned how both storms had very bad impacts for Florida and that recovery was made more difficult with there being the two storms.

- Absolutely not. Such an action would create issues about information accessibility and organisation. For Hurricane Helene, the Florida article is barely a thousand words long. If anything, I'd rather support the article being merged back into Hurricane Helene than it being merged with Hurricane Milton's impacts in Florida. Yes, the articles will likely be expanded in the future, especially after the TCR is released, but that would also lead to more problems. For Hurricane Milton, its doesn't even exceed 6 000 words. A split would nearly strip the article to its bare bones and would significantly decreased its comprehensibility, which would do more harm than good. Splitting information from Milton is premature and would not benefit the article if the split was performed. Even if Hurricane Milton's impacts was large enough to warrant an article, the merger, if it will go through, would likely cause WP:UNDUE problems and, as I said earlier, accessibility and organisation problems. I do not believe splitting the Florida impacts from Helene and Milton and merging them into one article would benefit the encyclopaedia. ZZZ'S 04:55, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose, Helene's effects were north and largely separate from Milton, considering the relative lack of effects north of Milton's landfall. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 06:30, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Extremely strong oppose. Helene and Milton struck two completely different regions in Florida. Plus, putting the combined effects of two tropical cyclones in the same state that's not the same area is ridiculous. Iseriously (talk) 02:21, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose, Helene was more damaging in the Western Appalachian region than Florida. Milton caused more damage around the Tampa Bay area. Just leave it as it is. Stajanlickers14 (talk) 16:54, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
