"The Hansen family bought complete control of Norsk Musikforlag in 1910."

[edit]

Yeah, No... You'd think Norsk Musikforlag, and other sources, would mention this. Maybe you mean Nordisk Musikforlaget, a very different company which was indeed purchased by Hansen in 1910? I'm deleting the entire section about Norsk Musikforlag from the article as irrelevant. ELSchissel (talk) 09:49, 5 December 2024 (UTC) (My mistake, they founded Musikforlaget in 1915. But Norsk Musikforlag is, to my knowledge, an independent company today, or at least owned by a conglomerate like Hansen is but not because they were bought out by Hansen in 1910. If I'm wrong will apologetically revert my change, but fairly sure not, here... ELSchissel (talk) 09:53, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I’m half wrong according to IMSLP’s page on Warmuth- quoting: “ In 1908, Carl Warmuth's Oslo branch was purchased by Brødrene Hals, a piano builder and concert promoter, and its Copenhagen branch was bought by Wilhelm Hansen. On 1 January 1909, these two entities were merged to form Norsk Musikforlag.” ELSchissel (talk) 10:00, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
