I've done a quick round of improvements to this article, trying to synchronise it better with the Earth System Governance Project. I have moved quite a bit of content from here to there. I am now going to look for content that could be used to build up this article better. - I'd like to point out that I have a working relationship with the Earth System Governance Project, in my capacity of a science communication freelancer. See my user profile page for more information. I also explain there how I am managing a potential conflict of interest. I always strive to remain neutral and objective and adhere to all Wikipedia policies. My aim is to improve the quality of this and related articles. EMsmile (talk) 20:45, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. I had never heard of this before. Seems like it needs more publicity. By the way I guess it also includes reversing change - maybe I missed that in the article? Chidgk1 (talk) 06:57, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, this topic is also new for me. :-) I am now reading the literature to figure it out. The pageviews are really low for this article. Once the article is improved, I want to interlink it with relevant parent articles. I am thinking key parent articles would be global governance and sustainable development. When you say "reversing change" do you have something in particular in mind? Like reversing climate change, reversing biodiversity loss? EMsmile (talk) 08:02, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Reversing biodiversity loss is perhaps a good example because, as far as I know, there is no biodiversity equivalent of the Paris Agreement.
So for example I wonder whether these academics would be looking into negotiations about recovering stocks of fish which swim between UK and EU waters, or bird populations which migrate from Europe to Africa. Perhaps these 2 examples are academically different because the first is between rich countries and the other between rich and poor. Chidgk1 (talk) 10:32, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm on second thoughts maybe those are out of scope being regional rather than global. Maybe recovering whale stock on the high seas would be a better example as some whales are fairly global as far as I know Chidgk1 (talk) 10:41, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
