Question
[edit]If this is a United States topic, then why are we using dmy dates? RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 13:43, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
- Not sure about this article specifically, but many US military, US Navy ship and US Navy biography articles use DMY dates since the military uses those dates in their texts. You will find that many, many articles starting with "USS" on wikipedia use DMY dates. US Navy and US Air Force manual of style is day month year, fwiw. --Dual Freq (talk) 14:24, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
Command dates
[edit]I disagree that the base from transferred from Air Defense Command to Strategic Air Command in 1979. Although I do not have any ready documentation, I was the Deputy Base Civil Engineer in 1979-80, and the base belonged to Alaskan Air Command. I think maybe somebody confused the parent command for Cobra Dane with the parent command for the base. - It's possible. We need some kind of source on that, book, website, scanned Air Force FOIA request, etc. WP:RS discusses reliable sources. --Dual Freq (talk) 23:08, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
