Some adjustments and removals

[edit]

Hi all, there seems to be a trend on the Dusun and Kadazan page where every now and then someone comes in to add some highly inaccurate statements on the origins of Dusun/Kadazan people and/or our culture originating from or connected to China. I am unsure of the motive behind this but it is obviously always unsourced or the citation is some opinion blog. I have removed the section about some legend from Brunei about Dusuns and the Ming dynasty.Realdusun (talk) 03:09, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also worth noting, I have noticed some really weak citations and reference sources typically pointing to either studies that are outdated which use language that has been considered obsolete by the scientific community (e.g. Mongoloid) or sources of blog sites which are just opinion based. The page is looking much better than it used to but still needs close monitoring to avoid misinformation and vandolism.Realdusun (talk) 03:09, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If the Malay word is not the origin, what then is the origin of the name Dusun? Realdusun (talk) 03:09, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This article appears outdated. Almost 90% of Dusuns are christians today.

the biased POV need to be removed (WP:NPOV). topics on Kadazan and Kadazan-dusun also need to be removed because there already is an article on those two. just mention in passing or in introductory manner should suffice. kawaputra 17:37, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs to be expanded for the Dusuns in Brunei as well. There are a large Dusun community in Brunei as well. --Novelty 01:33, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

arent they also a malayo-polynesian, so no wander the language is quite similar though the are few difference. article need to clean-up as i think the article are not uptodate, also it is not verified with facts. but sorry i could check that, i dont have resources.175.138.195.48 (talk) 11:23, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. this article is really bad. The stories and mythology is fine, but for e.g. the suggestion that Dusun Lotud are from mainland China? clearly some Chinese Sabahans or Sino are editing this. Also there are no sources from actual researchers and it is highly likely that these 'researchers' are amateur 'anthropologists' using their own misguided opinions as a basis. Extremely misleading. It is important to know that "Dusun" is a very broad term similar to the use of the term "Aboriginal" in Australia or even "American Indian". Therefore it is highly likely that there was no generic term for their people because each group/tribe probably saw each other as another "race". Alborneo (talk) 02:30, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
