As I write this he is Scottish on the Sunshine Tour and OWGR sites and South African of the European and PGA Tour sites. Any ideas? Nigej (talk) 13:38, 23 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
He's clearly from South Africa, but for some reason currently chooses to represent Scotland. As of May 2011, the Sunshine Tour listed his nationality as South African. On the other hand, this 2005 article calls him a "Durban-born Scot" and said that his father "has not been back to Scotland for 30 years"; i.e. since Doug was 4. So it appears that he is from South Africa, but his father is Scottish, and he has played under both flags. pʰeːnuːmuː → pʰiːnyːmyː → ɸinimi → fiɲimi16:01, 23 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I had assumed it was just a recent change but the 2005 date puts that idea to bed. Only matters in that we need to choose a flag. Nigej (talk) 19:32, 23 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
