Could someone possibly provide at least on decent reference for some of what is written here? I'd never heard of this band, came from elsewhere to try to verify that they really existed, and while I'm inclined to believe what I read here, y'know, an uncited Wikipedia article doesn't quite cut it. -- Jmabel | Talk 05:55, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

Uh, yeah, they existed. Check out an Alternative Tentacles discography, or ask anyone familiar with the early Texas hardcore scene about them and to name you a reference. dfg 19:23, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As I say, I'm not doubting they existed (and now the article has one reference) but this is still an under-referenced article. - Jmabel | Talk 06:14, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see your point. I added a reference to their entry at Trouser Press online. Once I find my hard copy, I'll put in the ISBN and page #. I'll look for more. Thanks for your interest.dfg 17:48, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just because someone once wrote that they existed, does not make them notable. Please prove they are notable, and not just alive. Keep it hood. 18:36, 27 July 2009 (EST) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hoodbrotha (talkcontribs)

I see little reason to dignify this post with a response since the user turned around and vandalized the article (with an edit summary of "improvement"), but for the record, the Dicks have been written about in the Austin Chronicle and NBC's Bay Area publication; have released multiple records on Alternative Tentacles; and clearly represented 1980s punk rock in Austin as demonstrated by their inclusion Texas Music's Hall of Fame - the Dicks thus qualify for criteria 1, 4, 5, and 7 of Wikipedia's criteria for musicians and ensembles. Also, Floyd and Perko's involvement in Sister Double Happiness (and in the latter case, Imperial Teen) qualifies the Dicks for criteria 6 in the Wiki criteria. Colinclarksmith (talk) 01:20, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So...
