link to building construction details
[edit]The link found by EPadmirateur on the construction is problematic. The link is better, but the details on the site regarding the construction are not correct. (description includes vegitated roof, when the school has a tile roof). So, I changed it back. One challenge is that it's only my COI and OR (I'm on the Board) v. the link. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 04:23, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Actually the problem is that the link to the "newsbank" site, which references an article in the Sacramento Bee, returns the error message:
- No articles matching "( ("0EB0D9E4AF97B72A") ) " were returned.
- whenever I look at it. That's why I changed to another reference. I think you can contact the SacBee staff and request that the article be put in their archive, so you can link to it. --EPadmirateur (talk) 04:52, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I can get the "abstract" of this article, now: it's sufficient to verify statements in the text. Thanks. I have removed the Primary Sources tag: article now has sufficient references, in my view. --EPadmirateur (talk) 20:12, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's part of their pay archive. I've been to lazy (and cheap) to pay for access. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 20:42, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Separate Question
[edit]Photo's? what sort might be good? I can swing by and get something showing the rammed earth buildings, would an exterior (doesn't show the rammed earthness very well) or an interior of the earth walls be better ? or maybe both and we can decide. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 20:42, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'd say a photo that features the structure earth walls the most, to support the statements in the article (or a file photo of the construction, provided it's not copyrighted). Also a photo of the school exterior would be good. But not to make the article a brochure. --EPadmirateur (talk) 21:14, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'll try to get a good one of the interior walls, and maybe the entrance gate. As far as I know there are no pictures from during construction (the schools recordkeeping has been 'haphazard' to say the least). Yea, no broshure-ish stuff, the school's brochure is nice enough, but boringly unencyclopedic. In other news....I found a free way to get into the newsbank (through our county library), it still doesn't seem to let me link to the full article for general consumption, but I can at least see them now. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 00:10, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
