Page move from Dave to David

[edit]

This entry was recently moved, apparently without talk page discussion, from Dave Williams to David Williams. The edit summary said that we were using "the wrong name". We know that it's not an issue of the wrong name, but one is likely better than the other when taking into account WP:COMMONNAME. Baseball-Reference.com does have him under David, but almost all of the other sources that I can access (including newspaper coverage from his career and baseball-related websites) uses the common name Dave. I think this might have been an ill-considered page move, but I'm hoping to get some other opinions. EricEnfermero (Talk) 05:10, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
