Post-basketball career
[edit]Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented. [See below] |
I work for Rubenstein and on behalf of Dimensional Fund Advisors and Dave Butler, I'd like to add the following italicized text and citations to the Post-basketball career section of this article.
- He worked with Merrill Lynch for three years before joining Dimensional Fund Advisors in 1995.[1] He served as Director of Global Financial Services until 2017 when he was also named Co-CEO.[2]
I would also like to request the removal of the last sentence in that section - As of 2007, he was living in Manhattan Beach, California. - as Butler no longer resides in Manhattan Beach, California.

- The residence was omitted.
- The claim regarding 1995 was added.
- The claims regarding the subject serving as DGFS until 2017
when he was also named Co-CEO
was not added, as it contains the word also. This word implies that the other action which took place in 2017 was the subject also being named to something, when they were only named to one post, as Co-CEO. The other action involved the subject no longer being named as DGFS. Having one title removed and the other title added are not actions similar enough to warrant the use of the word also when describing them both. In this instance the word also cannot be referring to the year 2017, because the sentence does not stateuntil also in 2017, when he was named as...

- @Spintendo: - Would it be more clear to say, Since 2017, Butler is Director of Global Financial Services and Co-CEO'? NinaSpezz (talk) 18:30, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- No it would not be clearer, because in your original request it stated that the subject was director of global financial services (DGFS) until 2017, and the request is now to claim that the subject is both DGFS and Co-CEO since 2017. The subject can be described as being DGFS since 2017, or he may be described as being DGFS until 2017, but he cannot be described as being both DGFS until 2017 and since 2017, because this appears to be a complicated way of describing the subject as merely working in the same DGFS position from an unmentioned time period to the present.
