Falcon 10MER or 10 Mer?
[edit]L'Aéronavale are still flying a number of Falcon 10s.
- English sites prefer Falcon 10MER
- French sites préférer Falcon 10 Mer
A probable reason pour la différence is that MER is an acronym for Marine Entraînement Radar (Navy Radar Training), and in English we normally promote such things using capital letters, e.g. AEW or AWACS. The French are either less fussy, or (and this is purely me), are playing with the fact that la mer is the French for the sea!
As this is a French aircraft, and a bespoke variant designed for a branch of the French military, how should we present the name? WendlingCrusader (talk) 17:40, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
