The existence of this train disaster is unverified. I have been unable to find any original reporting on the incident itself.
All three sources cite a Radio Free Asia (RFA) news article dated January 16, 2024 as the basis for their reporting. However, the RFA website has no such article. Using Google search, I could not find any article by RFA regarding a December 2023 train incident in North Korea. It's possible that RFA made a report in error and retracted their story, but I found no mention of a retraction either.
Further, the three citated articles that report on the RFA news article state that RFA is citing an unnamed source.
There has been no further reporting that I could find after January 2024.
Because the listed references cite a unverified news article, I am doubtful this event occured. I believe the article should be removed, or clearly marked as unverified. Further, it should be removed from lists such as "Lists of rail accidents (2020–present)" and "List of accidents and disasters by death toll" until sources are verified. 1dcmiles (talk) 02:21, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
