Are you shure that one of the counties was called Baranja? It doesnt make sense cos Baranja is north from Drava and it was occupied by Hungarians during WWII. Luka Jačov 18:43, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
I understand what you're saying, but it did exist. Its capital was in Osijek. Although its territory did not actually encompass any of Baranja, it may have been named to show Croatia's interest in getting the region back. --Thewanderer 18:50, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
And what was Croatian name for those county; Županija or Velika Župa? Luka Jačov 20:52, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- I compared the map with the list. They don't agree. The map shows counties in Istria and around Zara, and the list doesn't include capitals within those areas. The map also seems to merge "Prigorje" and "Gora" counties, and "Pliva & Rama" and "Lašva & Glaž" counties. Both the map and the list still need sources, but the specific problems with the map do not apply to the list. Moreover, the map is distorted. Jacob Haller 10:35, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Where’s the sources?
[edit]Sorry, but this article doesn’t have any source of any of the its information. And besides, Istria was not part of the Independent State of Croatia — Istria just became part of Yugolsvia after World War II.--MaGioZal 21:12, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
New Map
[edit]I have replaced the disputed map with one I created from a UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) map dated 1944. I cannot post the MOD map itself due to copyright issues but I will add the official reference number if anyone is interested. The new map removes the istrian peninsula as this was never officially part of NDH. After the capitulation of Italy, the istrian peninsula became Adriatisches Kustenland (Adriatic Littoral Zone) and was under direct german occupation and control. I also added the missing Zupe from the old map and changed Podgorje to Vinodol-Podgorje. This is what was shown on the MOD map and agrees with the counties as listed in Districts of NDH.
