Olympics
[edit]The article says: He was particularly noted as a fencer, representing Great Britain at the 1906 and 1908 Olympics. There were Summer Olympics in 1904 and 1908, but not 1906. Perhaps this should say that he participated in 1904, instead of 1906? Dsreyn 22:44, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Nowhere else is it mentioned that this man took part in the 1908 olympics except on other similairly editable wikis. In the lists for Britain at the 1908 summer olympics he is impossible to find. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.48.25.202 (talk) 09:21, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
"Duff Gordon" or "Duff-Gordon"
[edit]The title of the article uses the form "Duff-Gordon" for his surname, but "Duff Gordon" is used throughout the article. Which one (if there is one) is correct, or should be used consistently? RickMorais (talk) 15:23, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
letter by the secretary
[edit]" a letter written by the secretary further clears their name"???? A letter by their own employee giving their version of events cleared their name??? And you expect their employee to have written something different???? Look. It was women and children first and Duff Gordon asked if he could get in anyway - the guard couldn't turn down the baronet, but a baronet, theoretically a man of honour, should not have asked to get in a lifeboat for women and children. 109.153.186.63 (talk) 22:36, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- Laura Francatelli, the secretary in question, was a witness to the events as she was aboard the lifeboat in question at the time. RickMorais (talk) 18:06, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- There are several different controversies about CDG and the Titanic. I've tried to provide expanded coverage of the three distinct controversies in a revised section of the article, including giving a citation to the actual findings of the official Enquiry. Lady Duff Gordon's Secretary's recently rediscovered (and almost contemporary) letter helps confirm other evidence that there was almost no one waiting to board this particular boat in this particular part of the ship at the time that it was launched. But it does not absolve them (nor does the Enquiry report) on the charge that their (largely empty) boat made no effort to rescue those still in the water. Nandt1 (talk) 00:13, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism?
[edit]Some unsourced claims about him hitting a girl with his car because he’s a racist. Also when I got into the edit history there’s been a long string of vandalism on this page in the past few weeks. 2601:547:1200:979:0:0:0:B2 (talk) 03:12, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]The first paragraph of the article relates some very bad things but the phrasing and placement requires attention. Dkendr (talk) 13:12, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
