Cornish Choughs
[edit]The article makes several references to "Cornish Choughs", is there really such a bird? The links provided are to chough, which tells us "breed(s) on mountains and coastal cliffs from the western coasts of Ireland and Britain east through southern Europe and North Africa to Central Asia, India and China," though it does mention it has links with the county.Serpren (talk) 01:50, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- The red-billed chough is very well known as a symbol of Cornwall and invariably referred to as a Cornish chough in Cornwall and often elsewhere. [1] [2] [3] They are also referred to as such by the RSPB [4]. Bretonbanquet (talk) 10:03, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- And some more from the RSPB about Cornish Choughs Cornish Chough. DuncanHill (talk) 16:24, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
Yes, but there is no such bird as a "Cornish chough", though there are choughs which breed in Cornwall, which is a different beast altogether. In fact, if one clicks on the Cornish chough link, it takes you, not to "Cornish choughs" but to red billed choughs.

- "Red billed chough" and "Cornish chough" are synonyms. Did you bother to read the RSPB material? Or are you calling the RSPB liars when they say there is such a thing as a Cornish Chough? You really are becoming ridiculous. DuncanHill (talk) 09:02, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
