[edit]The source linked at the bottom seems reliable and was paraphrased well, though I strongly recommend finding additional sources to verify the information given, especially in the third paragraph when talking about sponsors and public broadcasting. I think that going directly to the site of a cooking channel, like [[[Food Network]]] would be a good option to get this information. When discussing the basic gist of cooking shows I think it's important to mention the fact that many competition-based shows give winning contestants a monetary prize in order for them to fund their own restaurants.
Not necessary, but I'd also add List of cooking channels under the See also section.
How do cooking shows partner up with restaurants/brands for promotions? What kind of cultural impacts have cooking shows had on society?
(This was done for a school assignment).
