Is this disambiguation page really needed?
[edit]Does anyone ever really use the phrase "Cook Islands" (alone) to refer to the Cook Islands Dollar, the (long gone) "Cook Islands Federation", or the Cook Islands Maori language?
Yes, the phrase "Cook Islands" may sometimes be used to refer to the "Cook Islands national football team", as well as the country's other sporting teams. But that's true for every country in the world; it doesn't justify a disambiguation page.
Would anyone object to a proposal that this disambiguation page be deleted? Ross Finlayson (talk) 21:08, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Ross Finlayson, The disambiguation page has existed since 2014 if you care to look at its history. I only found this page recently when I tidied up Cook Island (disambiguation) as part of an activity to assess the importance of Australian articles (Yes, there is a Cook Island in Australia). I have removed all of the stuff that you were unhappy with. I think this page should stay because of the "See also" section includes "look from" and "In title" templates which are very useful for finding articles re the Cook Islands. One can argue the Index of Cook Islands-related articles should do this function but I have noticed that this list only has 24 articles when "In title" produces a list containing 283 articles.
