David, your outline for panel paintings looks great. The analysis section will be helpful to understand how conservators plan what treatments they are going to use. One thought would be to add information about the agents of deterioration that affect panel paintings - what water damage is, how humidity affects panels, etc. It might also be good to make preventative conservation its own section after treatment, rather than a part of. I'm also curious to know if you are going to include anything about contemporary panel paintings. I think Robert Rauschenberg and some other artists have paintings on wood panels, but the paints they use may be different from classic examples. Hi David - I think this article is off to a great start! I think it would be good to add a separate section for external resources that can provide links to articles on the C-R of panel paintings and other relevant information on storage, links to conservators, professional organizations, etc. Although you do seem to mention these resources throughout the article, so maybe that would be redundant. Courtnye mentions contemporary panel paintings - is there anything different or specific to consider when the work is a collage painting on wood? Like Rauschenberg... that would bring in adhesives and other paper materials.
