  • In 1998, the company identified itself as Global Entertainment Productions GmbH & Company Medien KG a name used only to identify itself as Columbia TriStar Pictures or Columbia TriStar Entertainment, Inc.[citation needed]

because it's not clear what Global's relationship with Sony is, so this seems to be theorizing.

Also, I've cut out a lot of the article that assumes Company X merged with CTT based on observing logos at the ends of shows (for example, Chuck Barris Productions was acquired by Columbia years before the article claimed.) tregoweth 15:39, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Columbia TriStar Television.jpg

[edit]

Image:Columbia TriStar Television.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Potential Merger

[edit]

Although it might be difficult, it might make sense to Merge all off the folowing here:

I think this should get some serious thought. If merging all is decided agianst, then perhaps merging only those with "Television" in names could be done instead.--Questions99 (talk) 23:56, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Redirecting the article to SPT is not needed

[edit]

User:73.6.75.134, for some reason, you keep vandalizing the Sony Pictures articles: Screen Gems, Columbia Pictures Television, and Columbia TriStar Television by moving the information to the Sony Pictures Television article. You're redirecting them to the article for no reason at all. You're saying SPT was founded in 1994. THAT'S CTT's founding year. Another IP user did the SAME thing to the Screen Gems article. Now you have a choice, either you and the other users leave the information alone in the respective articles or I'll see to it that I report you to ANI to have you blocked! That's because it was founded in 1994 AS Columbia TriStar Television. It changed their name to Sony Pictures Television in 2002. --73.6.75.134 (talk) 13:45, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

But did you suggest having the page redirected in this talk page? And just because CTT became SPT in 2002, doesn't mean you can move the info to that article. A lot of the info added throughout the years has enough to have its own. King Shadeed 14:18, July 27, 2017 (UTC)

I was not doing that to Screen Gems OR Columbia Pictures Television, I was only redirecting Columbia TriStar Television (that company only) to Sony Pictures Television. Columbia Pictures Television and Screen Gems can still keep their articles. It's just that it's Columbia TriStar Television is the only company that I redirected to Sony Pictures Television. I'm sorry for removing its info from its original article and moving it to Sony Pictures Television, but still. --73.6.75.134 (talk) 20:12, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
