Coldwater Lake?

[edit]

Can anyone confirm that the Cold Lake was previously named Coldwater Lake? Winston earl smith (talk) 09:07, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alexander Auld?

[edit]

Does anyone have any 100% undoubtable source that Alexander Auld was born in Cold Lake? All I've been able to find is word-of-mouth and a handful of sites that say so (CBC, hdb.com) which doesn't counterbalance too well against certain other sites (NHL.com,Canucks.com)--198.161.102.118 18:37, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Auld confirmation

[edit]

The NHL Official Guide & Record Book says that Auld was born in Cold Lake on January 7, 1981. On the NHL website it says that his origin is Thunder Bay. I'm guessing that means that he grew up in Thunder Bay. --xx.xx.xx.xxx 03:51, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What County? (Map, maybe?)

[edit]

What county or MD is Cold Lake in or bordered by? Why isn't there a map with that info? Thanks. Kevlar67 22:37, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's surrounded by Bonnyville MD; Being a city, it is not part of the municipal district. --Qyd 22:48, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Map is totally wrong

[edit]
The map on the Cold Lake page is totally wrong. It highlights Lake Athabasca which is like 500 km north and the red dot on the map is simply in the wrong province.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.148.227.17 (talk) 23:49, 24 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

RE: map on the Cold Lake page is totally wrong

[edit]

The map on this page is actually correct. The red dot is situated directly over the correct location of Cold Lake on the map. Cold Lake is in fact situated within close proximity of the Alberta-Saskatchewan border, which the map correctly shows. The largest lake shown on the map, which is not actually highlighted, is in fact Lake Athabasca. However, if the red dot was removed from the map - which happens if you click on the map - you would see the correct depiction of a much smaller lake that is split between the Alberta-Saskatchewan border. That lake is Cold Lake. Winston earl smith (talk) 09:41, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There were some minor flukes in the Infobox settlememt template back in 2007, long since resolved. --Qyd (talk) 15:33, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comparison

[edit]

I don't really see why the comparison to the U.S. base is needed. I think that extra point should be taken out because the article is not about a comparison to the U.S. and that point is simply a matter of satisfying the higher number of American readers. So, Is this true?

[edit]

Is there really underground bases there? http://www.thewatcherfiles.com/underground.htm

Semi-protected edit request on 28 April 2017

Please add 'Portage College' under 'Education' section. Please link it to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portage_College Jaimedavies (talk) 19:05, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. - Mlpearc (open channel) 19:07, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Done: We don't need to establish consensus to wikilink a notable college to its own article within pre-existing referenced content presented in the appropriate and expected section of this community's article. The above original rejection of this edit request is worthy of a trout-slap. The semi-protection of this page is intended to prevent the repeated vandalism claiming that a fictional comic book character is a notable resident of this community and other related persistent vandalism. Unrelated reasonable good faith edit requests such as this should not be dismissed so easily and carelessly. Hwy43 (talk) 08:35, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
