Drew Spence
[edit]Chelsea's official website appears to have this player's name wrong on their profiles section. See for eg.

Edda Garðarsdóttir's 2013 Interview
[edit]The article goes: In May 2013, Edda Garðarsdóttir claimed that she wasn't allowed[by whom?] to chat with their male club mates, unless they start the conversation.
The original URL is dead, an English translation of the archived page via bing checks out, but none of the other online media houses seemed to have picked it up. The interview itself looks candid, and so, unless an Icelandic native speaker can confirm if the translation isn't horribly off and possibly point to other Icelandic sources where available, I am leaning towards removing this cherry-pick from the interview from the article per WP:DUE.Murtaza.aliakbar (talk) 21:14, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

Player records
[edit]My problem with this section (apart from WP:OR, WP:SYNTH and the poor sourcing) is the exclusion of pre-WSL players (WP:RECENTISM). Eg Julie Newell scored more than 80 goals in her first 50 appearances, but isn't on here. It is the equivalent of the corresponding section at Chelsea FC including Drogba and Lampard but excluding Bonetti, Tambling, Dixon etc. If the section is to remain at all we need to make it very clear that it's restricted to players used from 2011– . Bring back Daz Sampson (talk) 09:49, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- Wanted to delete those tables for exactly the same reason earlier. The sources are fake and its content doesnt match the numbers in those tables, the reliable info for the top 10 most capped players simply doesnt exists, whoever did this just done his own original research and WP:SYNTH, pretty much all players in those tables are the current players, the stats from 1992–2011 doesnt exists anywhere and are missing, therefore those tables are useless, almost certainly wrong, and cannot be verified in any means UNLESS the club itself posts its own list of Top 10 players by caps/goals. And even by doing original research the info is wrong, as none of the statistical websites counts FA Cup matches before 2021 for whatever reason, only League Cup games are there.
- And apart from that, I also deleted / moved seasonal awards to its respective seasonal articles / players articles, who even came up with an absurd idea to bloat the article with those personal awards, imagine how the page would look like if you would include every personal award won by Chelsea player between 2015 – 2025, there would be 100+ entries. The same with the all-time H2H record against every team that someone also added recently, completely original research + no info from before 2011....a lot of cruft has been added recently to this article by users "Chelstilly" and "Kbast123", purely WP:NSTATS, WP:OR and WP:SYNTH stuff. 1970s/80s-era Chelsea women's team
[edit]There are a few offline/online-scan archive sources for the Chelsea girls'/women's team that played in the 1970s and 1980s, such as this fan podcast interview with player Pat Budd, this Chelsea F.C. primary-source history of Chelsea Women (which frustratingly doesn't cite its sources or credit its photos), and contemporary issues of local papers (ie. 21 August 1981 Harrow Observer p. 14, 26 Nov 1982 Fulham Chronicle p. 36, 15 Feb. 1985 Fulham Chronicle p.29). The club was not an official side like the 1992-founded club eventually became, but it did have some ties (John Hollins the most notable). If someone with more wherewithal to source these than I have thinks these would be appropriate for the club history section, or for a separate article if that's not deemed to be the same club, please do add them. -71.34.68.140 (talk) 22:43, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- I've added a new paragraph about that earlier team. It's right that it is noted as although they weren't strictly affiliated to Chelsea FC, there was recognition of their successes in the club programme and John Hollins was their club president. It also cannot be a coincidence that this teams demise was swiftly followed by the official Chelsea Ladies FC being formed the same year. If Chelsea FC includes them on their own official website as the first 'Chelsea Ladies' team, then it can also be applied here. I've cited the relevant section of the Chelsea FC website as a source and will add other(s) when I find them. Bovis Messroom (talk) 04:07, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
