recipe
[edit]I cannot see why the word "unleavened" was deleted along with an external recipe, already existing in all other similar articles. But.. i am not going to revert
name change
[edit]As this food is the national dish of the crimean Tatars we should use the Tatar name for the article, çüberek. The article is mostly about what the food is and that it is common in central asia, russia and turkey and not only in tadjikistan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.240.75.187 (talk) 23:21, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
"Chebureki" is actually the plural form while the singular form is "Cheburek" (in Russian or Ukrainian language). I think that the singular form should be preferred, it's in that way also on the ru/uk Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.48.30.109 (talk) 15:55, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
Terminology
[edit]In Turkey they're not known as çiğ börek but çibörek, the former being a misunderstanding due to the similar sound of the two. Although I'm unsire whether to change it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.185.81 (talk) 11:03, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
About the importance
[edit]This article is considered to be of low-importance by all WikiProjects mentioned in this page. This is quite absurd, since not only cheburek is a national dish of Crimean Tatar cuisine but also very popular in the Soviet Union, esp. after 1989 when Crimean Tatars were allowed to return to Crimea (cf. [1]).--RekishiEJ (talk) 15:39, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
Word origin
[edit]@Off-shell, you added via an edit that the word was borrowed from Russian. Is it a well-know fact and does it apply to English only or to other languages as well? Roman Riabenko (talk) 07:25, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
