2011 Theme?

[edit]

Sorry I don't have time to be bold, but I thought the theme for 2011 was, "Work and Life with the Cloud." http://www.cebit.de/en/about-the-trade-show/programme/highlights/cloud-computing-world

The following file has to be transferred to Commons to be available for an image link: [1]

The image link would be:

The Telemax tower is highlighted in magenta only during the CeBIT.

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on CeBIT. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

[edit]

Many articles contain references to CeBIT combined with a year number, f.e. "CeBIT 2014" or similar. I have created a set of corresponding redirects in the English and German Wikipedia for all years when the CeBIT fair was held, and I would like to encourage other editors to use these redirects where they see fit. Using these redirects instead of a direct link to the "CeBIT" article has two advantages:

  • Over time, a lot of CeBIT events linked this way can be found via "what links here", which can be useful for research inside and outside of Wikipedia.
  • These redirects don't just point to the CeBIT article itself, but are targetted to an anchor containing the year. For now, these anchors are just "parked" under history (or could be moved to the start of the page). Over time, a timeline could be created to list the most important events (as it happens in the German Wikipedia), so that individual events discussed in other articles can be brought into context easily.

It might make sense to extend this idea to other repeating events of similar importance and media coverage. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 12:35, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
