Image of mature specimens
[edit]There appears to be a free CC – BY image of two mature Caudina arenicola here: [1] photographed by Lili Hartounian (aka sealovelife) of the University of California, Santa Barbara. More than that, she has dozens of other photos. Could someone contact her and run past her the idea that she can create an account on WC upload them there. It can be pointed out that this is a win-win as it gets Lili's work, out to a wider audience. Failing that, ask her to change all her upload licenses to CC-BY (which is easy on the site that Lili uses).--Aspro (talk) 21:01, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
- Well, I see "all rights reserved" there now. I usually don't go to the extreme of spamming photo uploaders from random sites to contribute to Wikipedia - it seems like that could quickly transgress the limits of politeness and get people mad at Wikipedia as a whole, and there are so many existing free-licensed photos out there we don't vacuum up now. Just not for this particular species... For now I'd just suggest looking for something else. I only went after the first photographer because she was waving the photos right in front of us on the Refdesk - technically I suppose that corresponds to the "prior business contact" exemption for spam email, though I might prefer not to put so ugly a face on it...
