Believe the bust shown is from Beethoven's 1812 life mask by Franz Klein, not his death mask as stated, which is quite emaciated and altogether different. Klein made a bust from his mask, which can be seen at the Beethoven-Haus archives on the web. Many other busts were based on Klein's; the bust shown, by Hugo Hagen, is one of these.
