[edit]I removed the latest text from the discography section due to its irrelevance, and since it has been re-entered again, according respect to Mr. 130.65.109.102, I will not attempt to remove it again. I hereby request that an administrator decide whether this text has any relevance to the Discography section at all. Backspace 16:45, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- I moved it to the not-discography section. (That's what they call compromise, y'uns! :P ) I think it is kind of silly, though; she was pulled over in a stolen car (that she may or may not have been driving… ?) six years ago? With drugs! And… vague implications of something else happening sometime! I almost wonder if it's someone who knows her and wants to be rude or something. -Dan 10:50, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
I added info on Carene's recording career, as well as her famous "put the c*nt back in country" comment. It may offend some, but it certainly was a significant event in her carer and would seem to warrant mentioning. --Markt3 20:31, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
where is john jackson routh carlene's son —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Summer17765@yahoo.com (talk • contribs) . Jaedza 14:14, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Presumably John Jackson Routh is the child from her marriage to Jack Routh as her CMT bio says "[a]t 19, she married Jack Routh and had another child; they were divorced within two years." [1] Jaedza 14:11, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
john jackson routh
[edit]you need to add him to her page
that can't be if he was born on january 15, 1976 and that he was featured on johnny cash christmas special 1976 that would make him 9 months old only there is a descrepancy there he looks like he is older then 2 years old almost three.
John Jackson Routh was born on Jan. 15th, 1976. There is no discrepancy. Soybrain 07:42, 25 July 2007 (UTC)soybrain
She married Noah Darling on August 12, 2002 in Dallas, Texas and had two children with him but in November, 2005 they divorced. She then married Ted (a.k.a.: T to tha Bone) Thompson a struggling rap musician from Los Angeles on March 13, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada where they eloped in a private ceremony. Although she is legally named Tiffany Ananee Thompson she prefers to use her maiden name Lowe professionally.
where did you hear this
The Texas info is all a fabrication by some creative person. Soybrain 07:42, 25 July 2007 (UTC)soybrain
Middle name?
[edit]Tiffany Marie Lowe or Tiffany Anastassia Lowe? Changes in Children section 71.56.32.183 06:15, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Daniel
Tiffany Anastasia Lowe
She is still married to Noah Darling and has 2 children- living in Los Angeles together. They were never in Texas and she does not know T- to the Bone a rapper. Her current info is all on her personal MySpace page. Soybrain 07:35, 25 July 2007 (UTC)soybrain
Material.
[edit]The following material was badly sourced. It was in the section now called "Controversy". I've decided to bring it to the talk page instead of totally removing it. Can anyone find any better sources for it?
Aside from her music, Carter's career and private life have included significant controversy. During a 1979 performance at New York's The Bottom Line, she introduced a song stating, "If this don't put the cunt back in country, nothing will", unaware that her mother, June Carter and stepfather, Johnny Cash were in the audience. Cash was reportedly enormously offended and would not speak to his stepdaughter for several months as a result; the incident and statement were widely quoted in the press, and Carter spent much of the next decade trying to live the comment down. Shooter Jennings, another progeny of country legend, would later release the album Put The "O" Back In Country (2003) which makes a similar play on words, and Hank Williams III used the phrase in his song "Dick in Dixie" on his 2006 release Straight to Hell.
Thanks. Acalamari 19:20, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Maybe her stepfather was offended, but June Carter seems like the type of person who would laugh at a comment like that. Timothy Horrigan (talk) 18:18, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
Children
[edit]Do we need that much info on her children? I put the {{unencyclopedic}} template on that section because I think it needs to go. Ten Pound Hammer • (((Broken clamshells • Otter chirps))) 17:44, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- @TenPoundHammer
- I met Carlene Carter and spent some time hangin' out, when we were both 21. she told me she already had 5 kids! I'm trying to confirm that now - 50ish years later.
- Wikipedia doesn't even say how MANY children she has, never mind any other info..! 209.171.85.218 (talk) 20:53, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
I agree that information got on here in the first place because an article on her daughter Tiffany was created by what appeared to be her husband. I listed the article for an AFD for vanity or non-notabilty. The result of the AFD was to merge the information into this article because apparently the fact that her grandmother June Carter Cash wrote a song about her made her notable. Personally I think Carlene Carter's children should be listed with the appropriate marriage they were from. James E. Zavaleta Talk 23:51, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Breen divorce
[edit]Music Row Pro: Did you read the tutorial I pointed you to about citing sources? If you put in proper citations it makes it much easier for us to verify.
Also you should look at WP:BLPPRIMARY. It's quite short. We can't use public records such as the Circuit Court Clerk's office. The Nashville Ledger might be acceptable. I'm not familiar with it, but if you can provide a link I'll take a look.
I know this seems finicky but we can't say things about a living person unless we have a proper citation to a reliable source. GA-RT-22 (talk) 22:12, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

- That's not a link, and a search at that web site does not turn up anything about a Carlene Carter divorce. GA-RT-22 (talk) 20:10, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
Not true. Again, two reputable sources: Google "A Nashville Community Segregated By" and "Nashville Ledger". Then download the .pdf of the October 23-29, 2000 issue (Volume 46, Issue 43) and scroll to Page 8. Near the top of the second column of divorce filings- sixth from the top- you'll see the entry Carlene Carter vs. Joseph Michael Breen. All previously detailed in Stacy's Music Row Report (cached copy): "CARLENE CARTER, who filed for divorce from her fourth husband, soap opera actor JOSEPH MICHAEL BREEN in Davidson Country Circuit Court on March 26, 2019, was officially granted that divorce on October 14, 2020." Vindicated on all counts by latest revision from "the horse's mouth." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.87.157.226 (talk) 03:10, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
