Merger discussion
[edit]Request received to merge articles: Dominican amber into Caribbean amber; dated: December 2020. Proposer's Rationale: There does not seem to be enough here for two separate articles; "Dominican amber" can be a section of "Caribbean amber" if necessary. Articles already share content. Discuss here. Ikjbagl (talk) 19:47, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose - Dominican amber is very much a primary topic article. "Caribbean amber" is a coatrack article that should be dismantled and made into a disambiguation page, with the citable information being put into relevant articles.--Kevmin § 19:55, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
- Approve - This article only talks about information on amber from the Dominican Republic, and not from anywhere else. They should be merged. Ddum5347 (talk) 21:18, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- If a merger does happen, it should be with the information being merged from here into Dominican amber, as that is the primary topic, while "Caribbean amber" is a neologism that likely originated with this article.--Kevmin § 21:33, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Exactly what I'm saying. All the information in this article belongs in Dominican amber. Ddum5347 (talk) 21:40, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- If that is the case, then you're actually in opposition to the proposal as it is currently worded, which would move all the information from Dominican amber to this article.--Kevmin § 00:30, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

It is worded poorly. Quite confusing Ddum5347 (talk) 08:12, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
