[edit]I have more material on the Cardan Grille which is related to another cryptography stub Grille Ciphers.
I would like to replace this page with an article of my own which is currently at My page User:Stevebkk

external web site
[edit]External Reference added http://www.stormlitpublishing.com/cardonagrill.htm
The above short webpage suggests printing a grid in a spreadsheet; but, if you're going to use a spreadsheet you can just as easily mimic the entire operation without going to the trouble of cutting up a Cornflakes packet.

good work
[edit]Steve, The Cardan grille article currently on your user page is, as nearly as I can see, an improvement of the existing one in every respect. Were you to move it here, I would be willing to nominate it for featured article status immediately. Good work indeed. ww 08:55, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Many thanks. An administrator has protected this page and moved the Contents from the top to the mid-section. It looks odd to me, but this is my first Wiki article and I'm not entirely sure of custom and practice.
spelling varies, accounts for red link
[edit]Cross-reference within Wiki: I've checked the name Girolamo Cardano and find it spelt that way in other books. The Wiki article on the man, however, spells his name Gerolamo - which results in the reference showing red. Also, his name in French (spelt the French way) was Jérôme. --Steve 00:53, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
"Forced language"?
[edit]I don't understand this part of the article:
The above message can be sent in forced language without a grille:
AS upon last time’s answer, is Marston rightly claiming issues with intent? IMmoderate says my Attorney; more papers. Are amends assumed?
What 'above message,' and what is this supposed to mean? If this could be expanded, that would be great. Kundor 19:19, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- It seems that we were meant to read the second letter of every word ... but this doesn't appear to be related to the Cardan grille, so I removed the section.
