Easily B-class. If you try for GA or A class, please consider the following. Introduction paragraphs 2 and 3 are not about the 1916 battle, which I found a little confusing. I have no issue with the stuff below the introduction, which is well-written and packed with great information. Djmaschek (talk) 03:20, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, the lead was a bit of a ramble and could do with a pruning and I added the 1914-1916 history of the area for continuity. I also found the description of the bloke in a brown suit irresitable. ;O)Keith-264 (talk) 07:32, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The more I look for a definitive source for which village is Ovillers and which is Ovillers la Boisselle, the more confused I get. I might have got them the wrong way round.Keith-264 (talk) 12:26, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cut the Lead as suggested.Keith-264 (talk) 10:23, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Moved from edit summary: (Feel like this whole intro especially the last two paragraphs don’t make much sense, the brits advanced to the british line? Needs details, Grammar is poor) by 2600:1011:b340:40a8:6df2:53cb:2166:3751 Keith-264 (talk) 17:28, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This Article is Horrible…

[edit]

Okay so here I am trying to learn about this topic and the way this article is written I can barely tell who is who…. XV division of WHOM? Brit? French? German? Grammar is piss poor, its just confusing as hell all the way down. If I had the knowledge I would fix it but I don’t, so hey, if ya know about the Somme, CLARIFY THIS ARTICLE PLEASE! Also the last paragraph of the intro, the way its written makes me unsure if the british were having trouble reinforcing their lines or someone messed up and put british where it should be german… 2600:1011:B340:40A8:6DF2:53CB:2166:3751 (talk) 17:28, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You're the first person to complain in nine years, are you sure you are trying? I altered some of the lead because of your complaint but I see no reason to go further. RegardsKeith-264 (talk) 17:41, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
