Merger discussion
[edit]I think that the two articles should be merged, or every neighborhood in the city of San Rafael should have it's own page. swat671 08:42, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
I oppose merger. The Canal is more than a neighborhood--it is a planning area made up of at least two neighborhoods; it is home to many closed landfills and current waste processing and treatment plants; it is demographically unique in Marin. On the big list of neighborhoods on the San Rafael article, the Canal is one of best candidates for a separate article. Many of the smaller residential neighborhoods should not have a separate article unless they have historical or architectual significance. --Hjal 10:35, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
