History section
[edit]Is there a good reason why the history section is apparently word-for-word identical to the history page on the town's website? --Kineticman (talk) 21:32, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Since I wrote most of that history section myself, I'd have to imagine that the other website (there is no town, therefore no "town's website") copied it from here. --Russ (talk) 11:27, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Silas Burke
[edit]The History section begins by describing Silas Burke, first and foremost as a slave-owner. That seems odd, since primarily he was all the other things subsequently described (farmer, merchant, politician).
Wouldn't it make more sense to put that at the end of the sentence (..." and slave-owner")?
Burke (and Silas Burke) was not a slave-trading center or something. Just what was normal in those days. Including abhorrent ownership of humans. 100.36.114.74 (talk) 03:21, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
