Assess : newly added and existing articles, maybe nominate some good B-class articles for GA; independently assess some as A-class, regardless of GA status.
Cleanup : * Sport governing body (this should-be-major article is in a shameful state) * Field hockey (History section needs sources and accurate information - very vague at the moment.) * Standardize Category:American college sports infobox templates to use same font size and spacing. * Sport in the United Kingdom - the Popularity section is incorrect and unsourced. Reliable data is required.
* Fix project template and/or "to do list" Current version causes tables of content to be hidden unless/until reader chooses "show."

Currently, in the section on the Mid-American Conference, the following sentence appears: "Marshall would rejoin the league in 1997 out of the SoCon and I-AA football (which the MAC was reclassified to by the NCAA in 1982, like the SoCon and a number of other like leagues, to which the MAC said "Thanks, but no thanks" to, remaining I-A through today)" I don't really doubt that the MAC remained in I-A, as I was attending Bowling Green State University in the early 90's, and remember all too well the struggles with football game attendance that threatened to force the league to reclassify. Of course, my recollection is not a valid source... but really, that's beside the point, as "to which the MAC said 'Thanks, but no thanks'" is far too flippant to allow to stand. Actually, I take that back: While others [citation needed :-) ] might object to the flippancy, what really bugs me about the current edit is that it does not elucidate upon this period. Could someone assist in coming up with a source for the MAC's I-A attendance struggles, and then maybe we can craft a better edit? I believe good articles flow well from good sources. -- JeffBillman (talk) 21:09, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
