Not much talk
[edit]Not much talk for a talk page. Perhaps we could get a good science discussion going. Redbubble (talk) 19:22, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

– Clear primary topic per PT#2, no one would be astonished to land here. Crouch, Swale (talk) 22:13, 26 December 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. SITH (talk) 14:51, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Comment. This is an unusual case. The dab page Bubble gets 110 hits per day, which seems very high for a dab page, an indication that it's at the wrong title. But Bubble (physics) was at Liquid bubble until 2016, and it gets only about 76 hits per day, so only a small minority of people landing on "Bubble" (or bubbles) are looking for an article about liquid bubbles. Articles with similar modifiers, like Economic bubble, Real estate bubble and Soap bubble get 2-7 times as many hits; Bubbles (chimpanzee) and Bubbles (The Wire) get 3-5 times as many hits.[1][2] Ideally, Bubble might be a broad concept article. - Station1 (talk) 00:30, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
- Bubbles (chimpanzee) and Bubbles (The Wire) are probably pretty irrelevant for the singular term "Bubble". Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:42, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
- They are. But I mentioned them because Bubbles redirects to Bubble, and I presume would continue to do so if this RM passes. Station1 (talk) 07:41, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- Yes that was the intention but if there is no consensus for the plural being primary, it can redirect to the DAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:59, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

- And then there's Bubbles, the 1886 Millais painting (which I've just added to the disamb. page). Randy Kryn (talk) 11:29, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose per Station1's findings. That, and the statistics for Real estate bubble alone ... seems more people are trying to figure out real estate than physics these days. However, I have no opinion on moving Bubble (physics) to a title per WP:NATURALDAB that has no parenthetical disambiguator (such as reverting the move from Liquid bubble.) - Oppose per Station1's findings and for failure to meet WP:PTOPIC#1: "A topic is primary for a term with respect to usage if it is highly likely—much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term". Bubble (physics) isn't. Further, WP:PTOPICs slowly but surely accumulate bad links which degrade the encyclopaedia. I like the current title: the disambiguator looks more natural than something obscure like Liquid bubble, which sounds like a bubble of liquid. Narky Blert (talk) 12:23, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose Would be better if a general broad concept article was written.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:59, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
