The section Possible Pathogens Responsible for the Plague in Thebes should be moved out of this page to a separate page, or maybe included in Oedipus Rex. If I have time, I will do it, but prefer someone else does it. Thanks. Peteruetz (talk) 20:03, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that someone with access to the cited source explain what difference, if any, exists between the various diseases - i.e. whether they are caused by different species, acquired from different animals, etc. JeffKo427 (talk) 16:50, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"The disease is characterized by acute undulating fever, headache, night sweats, fatigue and anorexia."

How the heck can a bacteria cause Anorexia? C'mon people! Maybe the author meant severe weight loss, and did not mean to say that a bacteria can cause the psychological disorder Anorexia nervosa, but even this seems incorrect. I'm not a doctor, but even I know that weight loss during sickness is usually because the patient is too sick to eat! Machine chouette (talk) 02:40, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You've confused anorexia nervosa and anorexia (symptom). DS (talk) 17:06, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
