2007 Commissioner Race
[edit]Bruce Castor is NOT running with Jim Matthews. Bruce Castor's running mate is Melissa Murphy Weber. Matthews and Castor were the two candidates who received endorsement, but that does not mean that they are running mates. There is still a primary election and the Republican voters of Montgomery County, not the committee, will ultimately select the party's candidates for county commissioner. At this point in time, Matthews is running on his own and Castor is running with Weber on the Weber-Castor '07 ticket. -24.0.35.239
Incredibly biased
[edit]This article is obviously biased in Castor's favor, including references to "oft quoted lines" that are not, in fact, oft quoted; assurances that Castor was in the right at all times; etc. This needs to be rewritten, because right now it's digital masturbation. 129.79.70.226 (talk) 14:56, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- Sadly, three years later, the article suffers from the same problem. Almost every section is clearly slanted to frame Castor in the best light possible and give him the last word in any conflict he has had, especially the Cosby case section and his 2016 election loss. The article needs to become more neutral. If you look through the edit history is seems that this article is the location of an edit war between a political opponent of Castor and either Castor or a supporter. Often, some poorly written negative statements are included (often with sources), and soon after the text is rewritten to put Castor in the most positive light possible, frequently deleting the source entirely and not including a new one. 2008 Charge by Chloe Goins
[edit]The Statement that "...no Cosby accuser has claimed the entertainer assaulted her after Castor's investigation in 2005 leading some to conclude, including the Bloomberg Report, that Cosby's brush with the law at Castor's hands ended his serial sexual assaults" is inaccurate. Chloe Goins alleges that Cosby sexually assaulted her in 2008. According to the LA Times, Goins was interviewed by the LAPD in January of 2015 and the district attorney is currently investigating whether or not to charge Cosby. http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-lapd-playboy-mansion-bill-cosby-i-20151001-story.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:854D:7A00:582:D2D2:518D:F2B1 (talk) 04:37, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
what is this?
[edit]"After Bruce Castor assumed the office of Acting Attorney General, he was the subject of much ridicule and embarrassment. A scathing article called "Everybody hates Bruce Castor, and the acting AG couldn't care less" [43] was published and the entire political community lapsed into collective snickering. The snide commentary seemed endless, but the direct attacks were even more devestating, as State Rep Mark Rozzi called Castor wholly unfit for the job." First, this isn't the middle school water fountain. Second, "Everybody hates" is not encyclopedic. Third, "devestating" is misspelled. 98.10.165.90 (talk) 13:20, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, sorry about that. I didn't notice when that was added. I've mostly removed it now. The news article says he was subject to criticism, so I kept that small bit of it. Someone should do a better job of summarizing that news article, though. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:36, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
On a similar note, should the last portion of the "Attorney General Race" section be considered unencyclopedic? It seems to take a very subjective position on 1) why Corbett lost reelection, 2) how far along the ideological spectrum one can be and win statewide office in PA, and 3) who's "more conservative" between Asher and Castor. One's entitled to one's opinions about such things, but they're not objective matters, and I suspect that most people in SEPA would be surprised to hear it suggested that the various contests were about who was more conservative rather than about corruption, competence, etc. MikeNM (talk) 22:54, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

Protection Request
[edit]Considering the extremely high profile impeachment trial he is now involved in, and given that Mr. Castor is already being criticized online and in the news, I strongly recommend that we at the least semi-protect this article through the month of February as the trial is ongoing. I believe it's only a matter of time before this article is vandalized or biased reporting and editing changes are made here. Thanks. --Negrong502 (talk) 23:20, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- I don't think that's necessary, yet. Wikipedia does not preemptively protect pages, we only protect pages when there is a high level of vandalism. If you still think it should be protected, you can submit an WP:RPP. ChipotleHater (talk) 23:58, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- ChipotleHater Alright then. Thanks for the info. --Negrong502 (talk) 00:34, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
