[edit]Not all 71/74s languished at Eastleigh, three were still at Hither Green MPD right up until the early eighties and seemed to disappear with the last of the overhead line supports at that time. I remember my father, a signalman at London Bridge at that time on the SE division remarking a conversation with his colleague at Hither Green, a signal box he worked at when a more junior grade and how the staff were sad to see them go, hoisted out of the yard by a 73 if memory serves me right, moved to Stewarts Lane for a short while as one could be seen peeping out of a bay door and then on to their demise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.174.186.48 (talk) 16:42, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
