Addition of information related to the show Free Enterprise, starring Hamilton
[edit]Hello! I would like to propose the addition of new biographical information and a photo to update this page. Hamilton now stars in a TV show. Please note that I do have a conflict of interest (COI). I work for the Brian Hamilton Foundation, brianhamilton.org, which is supported by Brian Hamilton. I’ve taken care to ensure that these recommended additions are notable, from a NPOV and supported by reliable sources.
Proposed Photo (here at right)
I’ve only included the sections with proposed changes below (first paragraph of the entry and a new paragraph at the end of the charitable work section).
Proposed First Paragraph (added sentence at end and combined two earlier sentences):
Brian Hamilton is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the co-founder of Sageworks, a fintech company that was acquired by Accel-KKR in 2018, and founder of the philanthropic organizations "Inmates to Entrepreneurs" and the "Brian Hamilton Foundation."[1][2] He also stars in the television series Free Enterprise on ABC stations, where he helps people who have been incarcerated start businesses.[3]
Proposed Paragraph to Add to End of Charitable Work Section:
In 2021, Hamilton became the star of the television series ‘’Free Enterprise,’’ which airs on ABC stations as part of the Litton's Weekend Adventure programming block. The show features the stories of formerly incarcerated people with dreams of starting their own businesses.[4] On the show, people with criminal records work with Hamilton and a team of mentors to start companies with little to no money.[5] The show won two 2021 Telly Awards in the television categories of “social impact” and “social responsibility.”[6][7]

Wikimedia Photo Added
[edit]Hello - I added Hamilton's photo from Wikimedia but made no other changes in hopes that an editor with no COI would review the previously proposed text additions on this page. Thank you! --Jacquee49 (talk) 12:53, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
Addition of information related to the show Free Enterprise, starring Hamilton, and information related to his investment in LiveSwitch.
[edit]Hello - I added mentions of Hamilton starring in Free Enterprise on ABC and to his investment in the video technology company LiveSwitch. I included the text I suggested on the talk page back in early August, along with three sentences about LiveSwitch, all supported by news articles. Please note that I do have a COI so would be happy to have another editor review my additions. Thank you! Jacquee49 (talk) 15:44, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Company name and additional references
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hi Wikipedia editors, I'm an assistant to Brian Hamilton and I have some small edits to put forward for this Wikipedia page. Brian is best known for founding the software company, Sageworks, which was rebranded as Abrigo in 2019. The company's new name isn't given in the current text, and providing it would help readers. My suggestions are as follows:
1. In the opening paragraph, can a mention of Abrigo be added per my bold text below?:
- He is the co-founder of Sageworks (now Abrigo)
2. Under the Career section, could a sentence be added to the Sageworks paragraph to note that it was later rebranded as Abrigo? I've used the reference supporting this from the Sageworks Wikipedia article.
- Sageworks was later rebranded to Abrigo.[1]
3. As well as these small updates, I also wanted to put forward some additional references from Business Journal and Business North Carolina for Brian's investment in Frozen Mountain, which became LiveSwitch. These references could replace or supplement the WRAL TechWire links:
- Reference for the investment in Frozen Mountain.[2]
- Reference for Frozen Mountain becoming LiveSwitch and expansion to Raleigh, North Carolina.[3]
If there are other references or any information needed to review this request, please let me know. I'll try to check back regularly to answer any questions that come up. Thank you! Missy at BH Foundation (talk) 18:37, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Edit request partially implemented
- The mention of Sageworks was not changed or clarified, as the subject founded Sageworks, not Abrigo. The WL for Sageworks exists in the lead section, to inform readers interested in the current state of the company (the name change to Abrigo is mentioned in that article). Also, the use of the term "now" is not recommended per MOS:RELTIME.
- The reference concerning the Frozen Mountain investment was replaced.
