GA nomination
I'm not actually reviewing the article, but before someone does, make sure to add fair use rationales to the audio samples (6(c) of WP:WIAGA). ShadowHalo 07:32, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks for spotting that.
Does anyone know how to find the bitrate of an OGG file?- Alex valavanis 10:43, 14 March 2007 (UTC)- Bitrate problem's OK now. - Alex valavanis 10:13, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
GA on hold
A good article overall but a few things need fixing to i feel i can pass this.
Please expand the lead to two paragraphs (or break the current one up) to meet WP:LEADand is one of the most acclaimed and influential alternative hip hop albums of the 1990s. You need to reference this in the leadCritical recognition could perhaps be renamed to Critical reception? i think it sounds better but you may keep it1001 Albums" reviewer states: What is this reviewers name?
- I don't have a copy of the book, so I've reworded it to remove the anonymous reviewer - Alex valavanis 09:53, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
no point linking "100 Best Rap Albums"had been successful, there was no commercially successful alternative hip hop group from the West Coast. With Bizarre Ride, The Pharcyde became one of the first successful. Saying they're the most successful, commercially successful are POV statements and need to be re-worded. Successful is used 8 times in the article - and should all be provided with sources. I can let it slide for GA but it may be an obstacle for Featured statusAlternative hip hop needs references
- Added a ref and removed possible OR/POV.- Alex valavanis 10:01, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
in track listing, don't link to songs that don't exist.Watch the amount of fair use media you use, Album singles contains 8 pictures which add nothing to the article, with this it will never be Featured, consider removing the music video ones.Accolades convert the external jumps to referencesI notice you are using citeweb templates for references, the publisher is incorrectly placed, the publisher is the website whereas you put it in the title. Should look like this -[1]

So once these are done I'll ave another comb over it because there are quite a lot of POV statements. M3tal H3ad 02:41, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
All samples need to be under 30 seconds or 10% of the song - the one i checked was about 40-50 seconds, thus is does not comply with the fair use laws, so these need to be shortened.M3tal H3ad 10:01, 27 March 2007 (UTC)- Wikipedia:Music samples outlines this if the nominator is wondering. LuciferMorgan 10:36, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- All samples now cut to less than 30 seconds - Alex valavanis 11:19, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Image:Passingmeby.ogg is 55 seconds...? M3tal H3ad 07:57, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oops - I've uploaded a new version. How's that? - Alex valavanis 10:07, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Image:Passingmeby.ogg is 55 seconds...? M3tal H3ad 07:57, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I think I've addressed all points, so it's ready for review now. - Alex valavanis 10:15, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Image:Yamama.ogg = 53 seconds, [[:Image:Passingmeby.ogg] = 55 seconds (still) M3tal H3ad 11:06, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Does this happen only when you use "play in browser"? I think there's something funny going on here. If I download and play the sample in VLC media player or Sweep sound editor, it plays the new version fine. The "play in browser" method seems to always play the original version. Any ideas? - Alex valavanis 11:49, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm you're right, i don't know what happened but you dealt with all the issues raised so I'm passing this, goodjob. M3tal H3ad 11:56, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot - I'll keep an eye on the media files and see what happens when the old versions are finally removed by admin. They're already tagged for deletion. - Alex valavanis 11:58, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
