April 2010

[edit]

I noticed this article was pretty much blank while adding material to the "Battle of Fort Jackson and St. Philip" article. With the reference material at hand it was easy to throw some stuff under this heading. Frank (talk) 23:38, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tone

[edit]

This article has inappropriate tone problems. It reads like a chapter out of a book, not an encyclopedia aricle. These types of statements are strewn throughout the article: "The final comic opera touch to the woes of the Union fleet was a mistaken signal in the last phase of the gun battle."; "Although staffed with a courageous crew..." It could also use more secondary sourcing and more citations in general. Novaseminary (talk) 02:46, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There has been no consensus on the supposed problems of the article. Rewrites and additional content will be added in the future. Frank (talk) 01:10, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I very much agree about the tonal issues. Mr. Fat Wiki (talk) 17:48, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
